On behalf of the National Climate Committee (NCC), we would like to welcome you to our webpage.
The Committee is committed to enhancing greater understanding of climate change among stakeholders, by ensuring linkages between global actions and national responses. As a result, the Committee shall endeavour to uphold our national obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), in working towards stabilizing the global climate as well as promoting adaptation to the negative impacts of climate change. Furthermore, given the high dependence of the Gambia’s economy on climate resources, the Committee shall deploy the necessary efforts to ensure effective climate risk management in all sectors of national interest.
This page seeks to provide all stakeholders on climate change, access to detailed information on the interventions of the GEF/LDCF/UNEP/GOTG project to “Strengthen The Gambia’s Climate Change Early Warning Systems” currently under implementation.
The objective of the project is to enhance adaptive capacity and reduce vulnerability to climate change through a strengthened early warning and information sharing mechanism for better informed decision making.
